Exmouth Town’s 1-0 win at previously unbeaten Okehampton Argyle takes the Southern Road side ever closer to the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division title.

With all the sides in the Division having now completed at least half their programmes the route to the title for Town is crystal clear.

It looks increasingly likely that the real threat to Towns title aspirations will come from Stoke Gabriel who, although they currently sit fourth, 15 points behind, do have two games in hand and the pair must meet for a second league encounter before the season is done.

Realistically, Stoke Gabriel are going to drop points in their last 15 games – with the Town encounter being one they lost, the Town would need to win just seven of their remaining twelve games to be crowned champions – that’s how close Richard Pears’ and his team are to the top honour.
