Exmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton had fine wins in the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup, whilst East Budleigh and Colaton Raleigh both made Firewatch Devon Senior cup progress.
It was a successful day for the big two as Exmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton both won their Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup ties.
The pair won in contrasting styles with Budleigh keeping a clean sheet as they won 2-0 at home to Chard United.
Town shipped three goals in their game in North Devon against Chittlehampton.
However, they also netted seven to make sure they won the first of three successive Saturday cup ties. It’s eleven without defeat now for Richard Pears’ men and they make a swift return to cup action this coming Saturday when they entertain Toolstation league Division One side Sherborne Town in the FA Vase 1st Round proper.
Sadly Exmouth Amateurs could not make it a trio of local sides into the hat for Monday’s Graddon Vending draw as they lost 2-0 at Warrenview against Plymouth side Shakespeare.
There was equally encouraging news from local sides in the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup. East Budleigh were 4-0 winners at their Vicarage Road home at the expense of Alphington Reserves whilst Colaton Raleigh came back from a 3-1 half time deficit at home to Beacon Knights to win 7-3 with player boss Rikki Pitter notching a hat-trick.
Make sure of your copy of the Exmouth Journal (out next on Thursday, October 11) which will carry full match reports and post match comments.
