The hosts won the Fresha Devon and Exeter Premier League last season and were promoted into the SWPL East Division.

This will be the final competitive match for Town before they open their SWPL Premier season next Saturday when they are away to St Austell, many people’s tip to challenge for the league title.

Last Friday’s evening match with Dartmouth was called off when the South Devon side advised at 4.00pm they were unable to raise a team and Town were in action last night when they entertained the Royal Marines Corp side.

After initial problems Town’s new floodlights were installed last week and should have been fully operational for last night’s match.

Work on repairing the old stand is nearing completion and Town have now received formal confirmation that they can go ahead and install further covered seated accommodation.

Other minor improvements have already been completed as they look to bring the ground and facilities up to the standard to ensure they meet the requirements of the new FA Ground Grading classifications and therefore be eligible for entry into FA competitions and promotion to the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.

Town’s first home match of the new season is on Saturday August 16, when Launceston are the visitors.
