After one victory and one defeat and with two games still hand, Number Nine B regain pole position to retain the Exmouth Snooker league title.

Russell Frame 96-70, Chris Sharland 54-53, Johnathan Duck 55-44 and John Sharland 72-47 went one short of maximum points to Bob Horton at the Police Social Club B.

At the Police A, Russell Frame, again won the opener on the black 68(27)-60, before Tim Thorn 63-9 easily won frame four 63-9 to set up the decider. But, they had no fifth player, so Carl Rowsell 62-48, Mark Rock 64-46 and the walk over for Pete Abrahams gave the Police A their eighth win for third place in the table.

Police C are the other side in what looks like a two horse race and they benefited with their B team opponents having only four players. John Anderson 62-22 and Trevor Haylock 53-49 led 2-1 before John Spamer 60-22 and Bob Horton 51-38 reduced the deficit to a single point.

East Budleigh C should move off the foot of the table, with two games in hand, following their fifth, win at the Number Nine A. Rob Marsden 48-46 and Mark Oliver 74-61 had to wait for Mark Auton’s fifth frame decider 62-58 as Tim Parker 66-26 and Dan Brown 62-58 replied, the latter with one of three black ball finishes in this close match.
