Exmouth Olympic sailor Joe Glanfield has sailed into the top six places in the World 470 rankings.

Glanfield, together with Luke Patience enjoyed a top-ten finish in the recent ISAF World Cup held in Miami.

At the same venue another Exmouth sailing Olympian, Stephen Morrison has teamed up with crew Chris Grube.

The pair have recently retained their number one spot in the 49ers class after picking up a bronze medal in Miami.

Royal Yachting Association’s Olympic manager Stephen Park said: Miami is always a great host city and a god light wind to measure the progress of our winter training programme, so it’s been a great event from that perspective.”

He continued: “Our medal count across the classes is pleasing, and overall it’s a great performance from the team. We now look forward to the next block of winter raining ahead of the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Palma in April.”
