Exmouth Harriers in good shape to land honours in the Ironbridge Runner 5k series
10:39 14 August 2014
Exmouth Harriers found the competition tough at last Wednesday’s fifth round of this summer’s Ironbridge Runner 5K Series in Exeter, writes Dave Eveleigh.
However, several Harriers do remain in the running for overall series awards.
Wet conditions seem to have put a few people off with only 80 finishing.
Exmouth’s Pete Fletcher was sixth in 16:59 and is on course for an overall win in the series.
Jon Garrity was 14th in 18:22 and is looking good for third place in the men’s 40-44 section.
Two places behind Jon was Chris Dupain in 18:35, Chris heading towards second place overall.
Richard Bishop was the next Harrier over the finish line, 28th in 19:40 with Richard Hawes close behind in 19:46 and 31st place, with Hawes set up for second place in the series competition for men age 45-49.
Dave Eveleigh was 57th on the night and lined up for second man aged 60-64 in the series. The sixth and final event in the series is on Tuesday, September 2, at 7pm.
