Exmouth Harriers athlete Johnson does well at First Chance event in Exeter

21:21 08 January 2014

A handful of Exmouth Harriers preferred the Exeter First Chance 10km race to the Cross Country on Offer at Killerton last Sunday, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Organised by the South West Road Runners club it is as flat as any road race could possibly be and is tempting for those looking for a personal best time.

It attracted getting on for 500 runners this year.

Exeter-based Exmouth Harrier Andrew Johnson lives only a convenient warm-up jog away from the start of this race. He continued his good form since turning 50 with third place in his age 50-54 age group with a time of 41:08 for 83rd place overall.

Nicola Musgrove was 298th overall in an inaugural personal best for the distance of 53:57.

Super-veteran Jim Wyatt (Over 70) was 352nd overall in 57: 05.
