Adam Miller has had some success in regular trips over to South Somerset for the Yeovilton Summer 5k Series, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Many courses claim to be of the ‘flat and fast’ variety and here is one that really is!

At the July 9 meeting Miller was on duty along with four Exmouth Harrier club mates. He ran in a time of 16:43 to finish 11th out of the 161 finishers.

Next Harrier home was Mike Musgrove who finished 13th in 16:47, thereby achieving a personal best time for the 5k distance, dipping under the 17 minute mark for the event for the first time!

The third runner home in the top 20 from the Harriers was Pete Fletcher. While his position of 20th is worth noting, he was personally disappointed with his time of 17:38.

A Dave Eveleigh leg wobble just before the end of a hard fought race is becoming regular if not habitual!

Unfortunately, this time he did hit the ground, but on the right side of the line for 76th overall and fifth man in the Over-60 category with his time being 21:01.

Finishing just behind Dave was Kay Nias – the pair had battled for most of the final kilometer, and she finished in 21:01 for 78th overall and eighth female home.
