Jamie Palmer is a name which has not often appeared in these reports of the exploits of Exmouth Harriers, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Two weeks ago though, on Saturday, June 21, he was flying the club flag in Plymouth, a city not often the destination for club members wanting to race.

Jamie ran in the Armada 10K, an off-road event in the grounds of Saltram House.

Nearly 170 runners finished and Jamie was 10th, in 42:17.

He was second man aged 45-49, the winner of that category, the durable Pete Monaghan from Torbay, also coming first overall!
