Exmouth Snooker League latest – Conservatives sit top at halfway

At the halfway stage of the Exmouth Snooker League the Conservative stay top of the table after a second 3-2 defeat and another 3-2 win.

Their second loss was at the home of the defending champions, Police Social Club A. John Sharland, 70-68, and Dion Newcombe, 63-57, went ahead with black-ball wins, before George Webster, 68(31)-64, Rob Pow, 65-48, and Mike Delahaye, 93-29, sealed their third win out of eight matches.

After trailing Bob Alexander, 64-38, and Ray Sturman, 82-42, at the Police C, John Sharland, 48-32, Iain Callander, 67-51, and Dave Lance, 48-35, lifted the Tories into a three points lead at the top.

East Budleigh hold second place with three frames won by Trevor Hayman, 67-25, Mark Auton, 62(29)-24, and Kev Luxton, 51-36, after Carl Rowsell, 66-53, and Rob Pow, 55-43, of the Police A set up the deciding frame.

Police B stay at the foot of the table despite recording their third win of the season. Ted Perkin, 51-42, Bob Horton, 65-45, and Frank Kelsey, 65-62, were denied further spoils by Trevor Haylock, 65-58, and Ray Sturman, 85-42, of the Police C.

Player of the Year is awarded to the player with the most league match wins. At the half-way stage, Trevor Hayman tops the leader board with 7 wins from eight games played.
