Exmouth’s Tidball brothers crowned National Cycle Speedway Champions

Exmouth brothers Will and Owen Tidball have been crowned British Youth and Junior League National Cycle Speedway Champions.

Owen in the under-10 category and Will in the under-12. There have been eight rounds of this competition which has set them against riders from all over the UK.

Will is 12 and goes to Exmouth Comprehensive School Owen is 10 and is a pupil at St Josephs, Exmouth.

The brothers have both been riding since they were four years old. The 2012 National rounds have taken place at Newport, Oxford, Wolverhampton, Sheffield, Southampton, Poole.

Mum and Dad are Michelle and David Tidball whilst there are two other siblings in this sporting family with young seven-year-old Rosie who also rides and two-year-old Jack is already able to ride a balanced bike!

The boys, who benefit from having their grand father as the spanner man, compete regularly in division two of the Exeter Aces Cycle Speedway Club which competes across the South West and South Wales.

Will now goes on to compete in the British Indoor Championships in the under-13 years class to be held in December in Manchester.

Exeter Aces Cycle Speedway Club is based at Cofton Road, Marsh Barton, Exeter. There is training twice weekly and all new members are always made very welcome.
