Exmouth sailor Ian Williams has enjoyed another top spot on the podium in European waters.

The GAC Pindar skipper was in action with his crew at the M32 Series Scandinavia and the team repeated their success of 2016 by winning the series for a second consecutive year after the final races last weekend.

With a final overall score of 68 points for the Series, GAC Pindar beat rivals Wallén Racing to the top spot by eight points.

Their win in the fifth and final regatta of the series, in Stockholm, followed two previous first-place finishes in Risör, Norway, and Aarhus, Denmark. Throughout the Series, GAC Pindar was the only team not to finish any of the events in last place.

Celebrating the victory, skipper Ian Williams said: “We have struggled for consistency this year, but I have been really pleased with how the team has come together to win back-to-back regattas, and with them retain our Scandinavian Series Title. Now we are already looking forward to more great racing in 2018!”

He’ll be back to defend the title and aims for a third M32 Series Scandinavia championship next year.
