The Exmouth Running belles supported the Exmouth Harriers Fulford Five mile road race around the streets of Exmouth this weekend, writes Claire Medlock.

The race consisted of two laps of the town and sea front including passing the sponsors’ premises in Rolle Street.

The run is well established and started in the 1980’s. This year six Exmouth Running Belles took part. Lorraine Kirby was the first Belle across the line in a respectable time of 40 minutes.

Kay Douglas followed eight seconds later. Christine Doe took two minutes off her previous Fulford Five time and was chuffed to complete the course in 40.54.

Julia Wensley was delighted with her time of 48.14. The final Belles taking part were Debby Mullier 50.14 and Olivia Pyne who finished just under the hour in 50.59.

The Belles were cheered on by five other Belles who marshalled along the course.
