A brand new Parkrun event was recently launched in Plymouth, writes Dave Eveleigh.

The Plym Valley Parkrun now joins Killerton as one of only two Parkrun’s held in Cornwall and Devon.

Exmouth Harriers’ Parkrun devotee, Roger Rowe, was there and posted a time of 21:53 for 15th place, that time also being a challenging inaugural record for men over 65.

Rowe continues to be fastest man over 65 at the Killerton event, near Exeter, where other Exmouth Parkrun regulars have been making some progress.

A big Killerton Personal Best (KPB) was set recently by Carly Audritt who dipped under 23 minutes for the first time, when she ran 22:40.

A training plan provided by local running legend, Gordon Seward seems to have done the trick.

Audritt’s partner, Adam Miller, has also been having a very successful run of Parkrun performances with a string of wins and KPBs of 17:36 and 17:34 in September.

Mike Musgrove has finished second and third in recent months and set KPBs of 17:50 and 17:45 along the way. Andy Kennedy has posted a new KPB of 21:09 and first places in his age 55+ Category.

Richard Hawes debut time was 21:05, but just three weeks later he took that right down to 20:31!

Jon Lambert has set a new KPB of 22:50, Les Turner came close to his KPB in finishing right in the middle of a big 120 plus field in early September and Ellie Sutcliffe recently set a new KPB of 19:37.
