Exmouth Harrier Jamie Palmer runs well in West Devon

PUBLISHED: 11:20 24 July 2014 | UPDATED: 11:20 24 July 2014

Exmouth Harrier Jamie Palmer has made a couple of trips to race in West Devon recently, writes Dave Eveleigh.

At the Armada 10K at Saltram he was 10th of over 200 in 41:17, but lost out to South Devon based Pete Monoghan for the Men Over-45 win.

He then tried an unusual distance with an unusual title, The Duckponds 7k, an off-road race at Plymstock, where he ran into eighth place out of a field of 120. He was again second veteran, this time in 26:35.

This time is an impressive 19 minute pace for the 5k distance, 38 minutes for 10k.

Dave Eveleigh ventured even further for an unusual chance to run a mile on the road. This was at the picturesque location of Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.

It was a flat course and a still night, though a little risky with no official road closure. In a field of mixed ages and genders Dave was please to clock 6:09 and finish around 50th of over 150 finishers.
