Guy, who is 25 years old, has been training as a body builder since the age of 16. However, it was only when he reached 21 that he decided to go at the body building in a serious way!

Guy does all his training at the Bodywise Gym in the town, a gym the new champion describes as: “The best body builders gym in Exmouth.”

There’s a tried and tested formula for success that Guy adopts leading up to the championship events he attends.

He says: “I follow a very set diet on a run-up to a show from about 12 weeks out. It’s a diet that includes chicken, egg whites, oats, rice and whey protein, which are all high protein low fat foods.

This year’s title success for Guy comes after he finished second in each of the last two years!

Guy says: “Having come second in both the past two years’ championships, winning it this time round is massive for me!”

There’s even bigger events on the horizon for Guy who flys across the Atlantic in early November, something he explains saying: “Next up for me is to fly to Texas in the United States to compete in a Pro Show. I have competed 16 times now in the last four years and have been fortunate to have won every show I have entered with the exception of those two second place finishes as the last two British finals.”

There is one thing about body building that is tough for Guy, who says: “The toughest thing about body building is that it is a lifestyle and not a hobby! It really is something you need to work on 24/7 in terms of training and diet. But I love it and that, of course, makes it easier for me.”

What must also be of great help – and support – to Guy is the fact that his fiancée follows a similar path!

Guy says: “My fiancée Cyprus [Davidson] also does bikini shows so she understands just what sort of dedication and work is required and that helps a lot!”

We wish Guy continued success with his body building.
