It’s been a busy Easter break for 12-year-old Exmouth badminton youngster Jonty Wright.

In county action, playing as the number one seed for the Under-14 team, he won all his matches as the side beat Leicestershire to progress to the County Championships in Wolverhampton later in May.

A trip to Surrey followed where, playing for the Under-16s County side, the squad came up second best and went out to a strong squad.

Two days later in Essex, at the Badminton England Under-15 Nationals, he failed to progress beyond the pool stages in the singles, but in the doubles with Sussex-based partner Andrew Harrison, the pair ended up in the top half of the finished tables playing some quality badminton.

Jonty is very keen to say a big thank you to his coaches Sue Williams and brother Morgan Wright.
