Exe IV 0, Sidmouth and Ottery IV 2

Exe were edged out in a fine contest.

Exe dominated the first half during which time the visitors made a few attacks at goal, but Exe rallied their defence to stop Ottery’s attempts. Unfortunately a lucky break saw Ottery take the lead with a goal. After a half-time team talk Exe and Ottery both came back fighting, both teams were desperate for the win. Exe had attempts at goal but couldn’t get through the strong defence. Then Ottery managed to slip another goal into the back of the net. Exe fought right until the end with some superb team work throughout but it just was not Exe’s day.
