Exe II battle well against powerful Westberries side

Exe II 0, Westberries 3

Exe II were beaten in a Premier Division 2B encounter.

Despite the three goal margin Exe can be pleased with their contribution to the game, particularly in the second half when they took the game to a strong Westberries outfit.

The deadlock was broken after 20 minutes of end-to-end play with the visiting side edging ahead. They added a second soon after, but Exe battled back well and were grateful goalkeeper Jolene Spencer who served up a Player of the Match display between the posts. Spencer made some fine saves and that kept her side in it allowing them to mount a serious assault on the visiting goal during the last third of the match.

Emma Hulme and Bridie Marlow both came close and the youngsters of Rosie Karakusevic, Anna Karakusevic and Deryn Spencer dished up strong individual performances.
