East Devon’s Stone selected for England Golf Birdie training programme

East Devon Golf Club member Maddie Stone has been included in the England Golf Select regional training squads for 2012/13.

Maddie is one of six girls across the South West included in the Birdie year one squad which is one of seven area squads chosen from youngsters playing golf the length and breadth of England.

The Birdie training programme identifies potential among the country’s youngest players.

The South West squad is: Grace Connelly (Vale), Megan Giles (St Mellion), Charlotte Heeps (Minchinhampton New), Grace Jackson (Tiverton), Caley McGinty (Knowle), Maddie Stone (East Devon), Emily Toy (Carlyon Bay)
