The ladies of East Devon Golf Club competed for the final trophies of the season in the Autumn Meeting last week, writes Helen Chivers.
The winners recorded some excellent scores despite the strengthening winds and increasingly heavy rain.
Sarah Jones finally came out on top, winning the Autumn Cup with an excellent six under par 68.
Lisa Tinsley and Rosemary Pratt recorded five under par 69’s to head the Bronze and Silver Divisions respectively, with Rosemary also walking away with the Pheasant Trophy for the best gross score on the day (80).
Jenny Dobel won the Mathieson Cup for best nett aggregate scores for the Spring and Autumn meetings with a total of 144; while Eilidh Cameron won the Peggy Anstey Salver with her best gross aggregate score of 168.
Both Sarah Jones and Lisa Tinsley will hope their excellent form continues as they join up with the rest of the clubs Sheelagh Creasy team in the Devon County Matchplay finals at Thurlestone on Thursday, September 26.
The foursomes on Thursday was a close run competition with the top four teams all scoring 38 points.
The winners on count back were Maria Heard and Pat Jarvis, with Judy Murray and Gill Dunsford in second place.
