Langdon 6, East Budleigh Reserves 3
In an exciting Football Express Cup tie last Saturday, East Budleigh reserves were left disappointed by some poor refereeing decisions, writes Mark Auton.
Ryan Britton opened Budleigh’s account, getting them back to their quick passing game.
In what was a tit-for-tat half, the home side led 3-2 at the break after Joe Rosser had got Budleigh’s second, driving his shot through a crowded area.
Budleigh keeper Mark Bown was having a good game ably supported by Rory Waite, Adam Wheatley and Man of the Match Rich Wyatt in front of him.
Budleigh deservedly levelled the score when a Tom Christian free-kick dropped to Harry Trick, and he converted his first Budleigh goal in style.
The turning point came with Langdon’s fourth goal, given despite a blatant offside. Moments later a similar situation occurred leaving Budleigh with an uphill task.
This proved too much for Budleigh as a confident Langdon added a flattering sixth.
Despite the result, it was a fine effort from a Budleigh side who have a free Saturday this week.
