Amory Argyle 3, East Budleigh Reserves 0

It was a bad day at the office for East Budleigh Reserves who crashed to a second half defeat at Amory, writes Mark Auton.

Budleigh began positively against a very good passing side.

In a score less half Tom Christian put in some good work down the left, whilst both Andy Case and Steve Davey hit the woodwork.

After a laboured start to the second period Budleigh conceded a sloppy goal and never really recovered.

Joe Rosser was replaced by Dan Atkinson when pole axed by the home keeper and his introduction had an immediate impact setting up Greg Konopka who fired wide.

Whilst the hosts struck again twice Atkinson saw efforts hit post and bar to sum up Budleigh’s afternoon.

To their credit Davey and Ben Wyatt battled hard to the end for a Budleigh side that are next in action at St Martins on Sunday in the Football Express Cup, a tie that should have taken place in October.

To Progress to the next round Budleigh will need to up the anti, but are perfectly capable of doing so.
