East Budleigh Chess Club edged out by Tiverton in league meeting.

PUBLISHED: 13:54 23 January 2014 | UPDATED: 13:54 23 January 2014

In the last few months two successful rapid play tournaments have been held by the East Budleigh Chess Club, writes Brian Gosling.

These have been great fun to compete in because the players have only ten minutes on their clocks to play all of their moves.

Quick thinking is the order of the day.

Although losing their first match in the Exeter and District Chess League against Tiverton by (one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half), the result was looked upon as a success for such an inexperienced team.

East Budleigh look forward to their next match which will be at home to Seaton.

The club meets on the second Thursday of every month.

The next meeting is on Thursday, February 13 in the All Saints Church Hall with a 7pm start.
