North Tawton 0, Lympstone 4
The Lympets made an impressive start to 2013 with a comfortable away success.
On a heavy surface Lympstone began brightly and their early endeavours were rewarded when Dave Whipp applied a polished finish to a right wing raid after 19 minutes.
It was soon 2-0 as Rich Tuckett pressured the home goal keeper into clearing straight to Jee Dorman who made no mistake.
With Chris Hindmarch marshalling the Lympets back line very well there was no sign that the hosts would find a way back into the contest and half-time arrived with Lympstone comfortably 2-0 up.
The home side began the second half brightly and they were unfortunate when the upright kept the ball out of the Lympstone goal.
At the other end Chris Hooker latched on to a through ball, rounded the keeper and calmly rolled it into an empty net.
The fourth and final goal was netted by the hard-working Jeff Dorman.
Dorman was named the Lympets’ Man of the Match for his two-goal shift and plenty of tenacious tackling.
Next up for the Lympets is this Saturday’s game at home to basement side Sandford (2.150m).
