Having already been a winner in the ladies pairs, Di started well in the club championship final, and once ahead continued to dominate, giving Ann Vincent few opportunities, on her way to what was eventually a 21-8 success.

As the outdoor season enters its last week, the final mixed friendly was a trip to Bradninch that ended in a 76-59 success for the Mid Devon side.

Budleigh did have one winning rink, that being the one of Don Huish, Brian Ward and skip Joan Shaw, who came from behind and held on to win 17-15.

This coming week, the Budleigh ladies compete in the Tom Bridger Cup, an end-of-season social occasion, and Tony Barnes and Ralph Cartwright will contest the last of the club finals, the Novice Cup. And with Captain’s Day scheduled for this coming Saturday (September 22), the 2018 outdoor season will draw to a close.
