Ollie Ogden-Barker from Cullompton currently studying at Loughborough University enjoyed his first solo in the Club’s K13 glider this week, having re-soloed after a year’s layoff whilst away at University, writes Jill Harmer.

Liam Vile from Exeter University has been flying in the Junior Nationals gliding competition at Lasham, Hampshire this week.Liam has gained valuable flying experience in his first serious competition.

Meanwhile, at North Hill airfield, another course week saw all the course members progressing towards their personal goals of going solo, with Douglas Boyle from Budleigh, converting to a single seater glider, and 13-year-old Josh Funnell of Whitnage enjoying the most soaring flights.

On Wednesday and Saturday, the cross-country soaring conditions with North-westerly cloudstreets enabled numerous flights from Barnstaple to Beaminster, Okehampton to Sherborne.
