Exmouth 2nds claimed their first win of the league season when they thumped hosts Tavistock by 122 runs.
Ollie Dawe led the batting effort with a splendid 65 whilst Richard Arnold (43) and Michael Collinge (33) and Dave Robinson (29) all chipped in to help the total to a close of 246-9.
Scott Butler then claimed 4-18 and there were two wicket hauls for Hugh Folland and Matt Tarry as the home team were bowled out for 124.
It may not be enough to see the side stay in the top flight of 2nd XI cricket for their was also a much needed points’ haul for third bottom Cornwood II who banked 15 points from a winning draw at home to North Devon II.
With three to play Exmouth sit 24 points from safety so not only do they have to take big points in their last three games, but they also need favourable results elsewhere!
They visit new leaders Bovey Tracey on Saturday and then host a Plymouth side who currently sit fourth bottom, 17 points better off than the Maer men. On the final day of the season Exmouth travel to Sidmouth.
