Woodbury CC are celebrating some excellent news as they begin preparation for the 2012 season.

Woodbury Parish Council have granted them a new twenty year lease for their Town Lane ground. This will enable the club to continue to provide cricket in the community for all ages.

Preparation for the new season starts this coming Saturday morning (9am) at the Exmouth Community College with an indoor nets session for adults and senior colts. Further session dates and start times are posted on the club website. Sessions will run up to and including, April 14.

Club nights will continue to be run at the ground on Wednesdays lead by ECB Club Coach Liam Cook, starting on April 11.

The club invites any new players wishing to take part to come along to these sessions.

This season Woodbury’s Saturday team will be in the F Division of the Devon League. The club will also be running a number of friendly matches on Sundays and also have midweek games. Full details of club fixtures and other Woodbury CC news can be viewed at the club web-site - www.woodburycc.co.uk.

During the winter the old artificial wicket has been replaced. The practice net is in the process of being upgraded and there are further plans to improve both the playing and social facilities at the club.

The club’s successful youth section will again be running Colts evenings for players under 13`s and below. The first Colts evening of the season will be on Friday, April 21.

This Season the Colts will be represented in the EDYL at U10 Soft ball pairs, U11 hard ball pairs and at U13’s and will enter teams in both U12 and U13 Cup Competitions.

The Woodbury CC AGM will take place in the White Hart Public House in Woodbury on February 22 with a 7.30pm start.
