Wonderful Williams catch for Woodbury Under-10s in Budleigh meeting

Woodbury were beaten by Budleigh in an Under-10 softball pairs match by a margin of 42 runs.

Batting first Budleigh were able to make their way to a close of 199-3 thanks mainly to the pairing of Matt Edworthy and Tom Real who put on 34 between them whilst Ashok Prasad and Rory Craib contributed 38, losing just one wicket along the way.

Three Woodbury bowlers claimed wickets, Matt Williams (1-3), Jaques Vissiere (1-17) and Jack McKie (1-13).

One champagne moment in the field was a magnificent overhead catch on the boundary by Matt Williams.

Woodbury’s reply closed on 157-7 with the top partnerships being one of 32 (once out) between Sammy Pratt and Emma Corney and 33 (with two wickets falling) by Alfie Pond and Jacques Vissiere.

Matt Edworthy was the pick of the Budleigh bowlers with an impressive 3-2 whilst Toby Whitefield (2-0), Ashock Prasad (1-0) and Kieran Davison (1-4) were the other wicket takers.
