Topsham St James were impressive winners over South Devon in their latest South Devon Sunday league match.

Joe Thomlinson and Al-Amin Kassam set a new Saints record for the South Devon League opening wicket with a stand of 165 before Thomlinson was first out for a 94-ball innings of 79 that included 15 fours.

Al-Amin Kassam stayed at the wicket and went on to strike his maiden century for the club, eventually being dismissed for a 121-delivery knock 141.

He struck 22 fours and three 6s before he was out with the team score on 294!

The late runs came from skipper Alex Sparkes with a rapid-fire eight boundary 41, with the innings closing on 312-5.

The South Devon reply saw them bowled out for 67 in 23.3 overs with Mehdi Rizvi taking 2-13 from five overs.
