The Tolchards Devon Cricket League Premier Division continues to throw up some extraordinary results this season with match day seven (June 17) being no exception.
Indeed, reigning champions Sidmouth, who made such a poor start to the season, now find themselves just 20 points off second placed Exmouth and 43 shy of leaders Bovey with both the top two losing!
Bovey Tracey, who had won all six games up until match day seven, were beaten by North Devon who scored 301-7 and then bowled Bovey out for 237.
Exmouth went down by three runs at home to Exeter who batted first and scored 187-8, but the Maer men were bowled out for 184 in 39.5 overs.
Sidmouth won handsomely, they scored 213-7 from their 50 overs and then bowled out Heathcoat for 143 in 40.2.
Torquay won the basement battle with Plymouth. Torquay scored 337-6 and then restricted Plymouth to 202-9.
Bradninch were 138-run winners at Paignton where they scored 271 and then bowled the hosts out for 133.
Incredibly, seven games into the 18 game season, there are just 36 points between second placed Exmouth (98) and bottom side Plymouth (62).
Bovey Tracey remain top with 21 points, Exmouth are second with 98 and Bradninch are third with 93.
