Budleigh Cricket club have appointed a new colt’s co-ordinator.

Neil Murrin has stood down after six excellent years at the helm and the new man in charge is Karl Short.

Budleigh secretary Kevin Curran said: “Neil has done an outstanding job in leading us from a colts section of just three teams to double that figure. Furthermore he was also responsible for the introduction into our most popular Community League of a BCC Youth Development side. Throughout his involvement he has always led by example and managed to gather an enthusiastic team of managers and helpers. Neil has served the club for 32 years and will continue to give his support to the Colts Academy”

Curran added: “We are very fortunate to have Karl Short taking over. He has been a very successful Colts’ team manager at Budleigh for several seasons and in addition to being an ECB qualified level 2 coach, also holds an ECB Club Coaching certificate. Karl has already outlined some of his new ideas for next season to the clubs colt team managers and assistant coaches and, having attended that meeting, I think Budleigh’s great tradition and success in providing colt’s cricket is in very good hands”.
