Ingham’s seven wicket haul can’t prevent another Woods defeat

Woodbury went down by 60 runs to visiting Culmstock despite a magnificent effort by Toby Ingham.
Ingham had a hand in all but one of the Mid Devon side’s wickets to fall. Indeed he took seven of the first eight to fall!
He knocked the stumps over four times, trapped two others leg before and then held a catch off his own bowling on his way to a highly impressive return of 7-31 from 11.3 overs.
Nalin Chouhan was the other Woods bowler to strike, he finished with 1-38 from his ten over stint.
Woodbury were then hit by the loss of three early wickets in the run chase with James Watson, Ian Hughes and Anish Chouhan all dismissed for single figure scores by Adam Gingell.
There was to be no recovery from 18-3 and wickets fell at regular intervals.
Hope sprang with the partnership of Martin Cook and Danny Lowman who added 24 for the seventh wicket but once they were separated the end came quickly with the final three wickets being lost without a run being added to the score!
Cook top scored with 30 and Lowman hit 14, but the only other offering of double figures with the bat came from that bowling hero Ingham with 13 as Woodbury were eventually bowled out for 96.
At the half way stage of their F Division season the Woods sit eighth with 70 points having won two of their eight matches to date.
They begin the second half of their campaign on Saturday with the visit of Kingskerswell.
