Who did what locally on match day 16 of the Francis Clark Devon League season.

Exmouth successfully completed part one of a three part mission to land the Francis Clark Devon league title when they defeated rivals Bovey Tracey by 53 runs at The Maer.

What’s more they have been given a huge boost in their bid to land the top honour with news that the league management have agreed to switch this coming Saturday’s derby game with Budleigh to The Maer ground with the Budleigh temporary home of then University CC ground in Topsham unavailable for the last two weeks of the season.. It also means that this Saturday’s 2nd XI fixture will be switched to Woodbury’s Town Lane home.

Budleigh climbed to a healthy 15 points off the drop spots with two to play after they were 20-run winners over hosts Torquay.

There was also a precious haul of points for Clyst St George 1st XI who pushed Ashburton nearer C Division relegation when the pair drew at Bohea Field. Clyst St George are now 18 points clear of danger with two to play.

No such joy for Topsham St James who lost heavily at E Division relegation rivals Tiverton and Bickleigh to slip to within four points of a swift return to the basement division.

Woodbury ended their home season on a high with a 45-run win over visiting Cheriton Fitzpaine.
