Despite the appalling weather over last weekend, Exmouth Cricket Club had a reasonable turnout of members for the annual national NatWest CricketForce self help scheme.

Taken with the large turnout of parents and colts at Friday night’s Registration evening, the whole weekend can be considered a real success.

Among the schemes carried out were, painting of the sight screens, cleaning of the marquee and decorating of the front of the newly re-vamped Pavilion.

The Club was greatly assisted in this last project by members of Nat West Bank, Exmouth and their families for which the Club is most grateful. Fortunately several projects had been carried out on the previous weekend so much of the overall programme was completed.

Attention now turns to the forthcoming cricket season. Friday night will offer a further opportunity for Colts and new member registration at 6pm and on Saturday afternoon there is a friendly against the Gloucestershire side, Forchester , although this will be determined by the weather and ground conditions. Further news on the Club and the changes which have taken place in the close season will appear in next week’s Exmouth Journal.
