Clyst St George still battling to save D Division status

PUBLISHED: 13:12 22 August 2014 | UPDATED: 13:12 22 August 2014

Clyst St George take their bid to stay in the D Division into Saturday’s home game with Uplyme knowing a victory could take them even close to safety.

The Bohea Field men host mid-table Uplyme looking to make up the eight points that separate them and third bottom Whitchurch who face the daunting task of a visit to leaders Babbacombe.

Last Saturday’s two wicket defeat at home to Feniton saw them bank nine points, two more than Whitchurch. Chris Cook top scored with 70 in the home side’s 203-8, passed for the loss of eight wickets by the visitors.

The final match day of the season sees Clyst St George travel to an Ashburton side who are not yet clear of danger, sitting 12 points and two places better off than the Bohea Field prior to their visit to a Honiton side who are destined to start next season in the lower division.
