Budleigh Colts - The 2012 award winners

Budleigh Cricket Club held their 2012 Colts Awards Evening at their Ottermouth clubhouse.
Neil Murrin opened the proceedings by welcoming the Budleigh CC president Lord Clinton and Lady Clinton. He also welcomed Sarah Tadd, Finance Director of the Budleigh CC main sponsors, South West Communications Group .
He also welcomed The County Director of Cricket Roger Newman who plays such an important role in the running of the County side and in the development of the Counties young cricketers.
Club Secretary Kevin Curran then spoke of how the clubs youth section had grown over the years. He made the point that, having begun the junior section in 1957 with initially one team, it was outstanding that the BCC Colts section now boasts seven sides and still has some of the original 1957 team members active within the club!
There was high applause for Neil Murrin when it was announced that, after seven years as the club’s Colts co-ordinator, hew was standing down, the length of applause was fitting given the work that Murrin has done in his time et the helm of the colts section.
Max Mejzner was named the Budleigh CC Junior Colt of the Year whilst James Plowman lifted the award for then Senior Colt of then Year.
In terms of the colts teams and their individual awards they were as follows;
In the Under-10m section the awards were; Batting, Sam Baumber; Bowling, Ashok Prased; Fielding, Matthew Edworthy; and Managers Award, Sam, Gore.
In the Under-11 section; Batting, James Doble; Bowling, Ben Bolwell; Fielding, Edward Lister and Managers Award, Harry Geddes.
In the Under-11 Pair’s; Batting George Messon, Bowling, Abigail Horne; Fielding, Jake Yarwood; Managers Award, Charlie Levi.
In the Under-12 section; Batting, Max Mejzner; Bowling Will Oxland; Fielding Tom Oxland; Managers Award Sam Fearnley.
In the Under-13 section; Batting, Jack England; Bowling, Alex Craib, Fielding, Alex Taylor; Managers Award Edward Doble.
In the Under-15 section; batting, Harry Collison; Bowling, Matthew Murphy; Fielding, Neave Haytor and Rosie Short, Manages Award, Finlay Marks.
