Budleigh made short work of sealing an eight wicket win at Lewdown in a contest that lasted just 62 overs.

The home side were put in on a solid wicket, but had now answer to the combined efforts of Luke Peterson, James Burke and skipper Joel Murphy with the ball.

Each of the seamers claimed three wickets and Lewdown were all out inside 37 overs for 116.

Murphy stole the honours in terms of bowling figures, sending down his 5.4 overs for a return of three wickets for six runs. James Burke bowled seven overs for his three for twenty return and Peterson bowled a full ten over shift for his three for 28.

James Leat was the other wicket taker.

Elliott Rice (290) and James Burke got the run chase off to a good start putting on 65 before Rice departed.

Burke was the only other Budleigh wicket to fall, he went for 63 with victory just six runs away.

The Burke knock included ten fours and the not out batsmen when the win was confirmed were Peterson (19) and Jack Dart (2).
