Exmouth U10’s travelled to Torquay and met a well drilled team who played as well as any opposition the young Cockles had come across all season.

Despite playing well, the Cockles were unable to find the space to create the opportunities they have enjoyed in recent matches.

Torquay seemed to be first to every breakdown and were there in sufficient numbers to prevent Exmouth from getting quick ball, Exmouth were rucking well but with Torquay not necessarily entering from the correct side the second phase was spoiled. It appeared that every time Exmouth went to ground and laid the ball back the black shirts of Torquay were there to pick it up or interfere with play.

The wet ball made passing difficult for both sides and generally Exmouth played well with the ball in hand.

The Exmouth scrum was working well with Vinney Neath Rogers, Arron Lee and Alex Dunstone who was later injured and was replaced by Eddie Ford.

Unfortunately Harry Neath Roger was another to succumb to injury, he required hospital treatment for a minor shoulder injury but is hoping to be fit again for next week.

Two matches were played and Exmouth scored one try in each, but Torquay scored five in the first match and four in the second. Exmouth try scorers were Ben Dawson and Vinny Neath Rogers.

The Man of the Match award went to Olly Cowley who seemed to be involved in all aspects of the game and Thomas Preece was presented with the Tackler of the match shield.
