With a healthy turn-out of numbers Withy fielded two sides with Withy Green taking to the pitch first. They found the Chiefs team to be both competent and sizeable and they made a powerful start.

Despite the pressure the Withy team tackled ferociously and did all the basics well, competing in all areas. At half-time the Chiefs held a 3-0 lead.

They added three more scores in the second half but a battling Withy were fully deserving of the one score they got when Matthew Rye crossed the home line.

The Withy Man of the Match award went to Jayden Gore for all round determined and aggressive play.

In the second match Withy Black fired into the Chiefs from the kick off putting the home side on their back foot for most of the fist half.

Determined rucking saw Withy repeatedly punch holes into a resolute defence.

Chiefs scored a single break away try very much against the run of play in the first half, with Withy unlucky to have am equalizing effort help up on the line.

In the second half the well drilled Chiefs took control and ran in a further three tries despite very good Withy defence and periods of attack.

The Withy Black Man of the Match award went to Will Cornish for all round determined and aggressive play

Despite the score lines both teams played very well in all areas - a credible performance that the boys should take heart from against tough opposition who deserved their wins.

The squad would like to welcome new boy Ben Clemens who made an encouraging debut.
