Clyst St George 2nd XI made a decent fist of a run chase in their game at Yelverton.
The hosts batted first and were bowled out for 237 thanks mainly to a fivefer from Oz Besley.
The club chairman finished with figures of 5-27 and he then sat back and enjoyed a splendid innings of 78 from Alan Welsh and a knock of 50 from Kevin Coe as Clyst St George came mighty close to nailing a third win of the season, eventually settling for a draw at 209-5.
The side sit six points clear of the bottom two with five to play and next entertain Thorverton II at Bohea Field on Saturday.
