Budleigh played a brace of friendlies, one home and one away, last week and enjoyed success in both.

First up a four rink visit to St Thomas where Budleigh were victorious to the tune of a 79-58 score line.

The two best performing rinks recorded almost identical results, each finishing on plus 16 and both only allowed their opponents to win on five ends!

Alf Wallen, Eileen Burston, Avril Barrett and Gerry Roberts scored 25 shots to 9 while Ann Vincent, Bill Barber, Jean Watts and Leighton Burston struck a 24-8 victory.

Bitton Park Bowls Club of Teignmouth visited with five rinks of mixed triples and were defeated by 97 shots to 58.

Budleigh’s finest on the day were Bill Barber, Joan Cowing and Rob Jerrard who led from the start top finish to register a 24-9, followed by Burges Stace on plus 14, Tony Dealler on plus nine and Archie Autton, plus four.
