Playing their second match in this season’s Exeter and District Youth League Under-15 Division Two, Budleigh Salterton put in an impressive second half display to overcome spirited Pinhoe Warriors, writes SpursTom.

Leading 1–0 from a Joe Walker strike in the first period, Budleigh were somewhat pegged back early after the break by a Pinhoe equalizer.

However, Man of the Match, Ewan Anderson was causing problems down the right, and it was he who restored Budleigh’s lead from the penalty spot.

This, plus the commitment shown by his team mates, kept them on top, and even when they were called to defend, they threw bodies in the way.

A further goal for Anderson, and with Tom Rockey and Joe Taylor also on target, a convincing 5-1 victory for the young Robins was completed.

In their opening league match, Joe Taylor scored Budleigh’s solitary goal as they went down to Hemyock 1 – 2.

Budleigh: Scott Bochenski, Josh Mingo, Tom Rockey, Max Goodesmith (Capt), Owen Cresswell, Joe Walker, Joe Taylor, Alex Larsson-Carter, Brett Lines, Josh Edwards, Ewan Anderson, Ross Williams, Dan Swain and Nathan Penhallurick.
