Budleigh Under-11s were nine wicket winners when they met Sidmouth in a Devon Cup encounter.
Leading his side into their first action of the season Budleigh skipper Tom Real won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Ashok Prasad and the skipper took the new ball and they were followed by Toby Whitfield, Abby
Horne, Rory Craib and Joseph Appelby.
All the bowlers put a good shift in with the stand-out figures those of Whitfield who finished with two wickets for six runs from his three overs whilst Ashok Prasad took two for nine from four splendid overs and the skipper claimed 1-6 from his four.
Budleigh also impressed in the field with Matt Edworthy taking a catch and Sam Gore claiming a superb run-out.
Sidmouth closed on 59-7 after their 20 overs.
The Budleigh reply was launched by Sam Baumber and Matt Edworthy and the pair ran well between the wickets before the latter was caught for eight.
James Turner too over and, after doing well to survive a few good balls he went on to provide solid support to the main innings which came from the bat of Sam Baumber who ended unbeaten on a five boundary 32.
Young Turner was not out six at the close as Budleigh won by nine wickets with nine overs to spare.
