Batting first the Ottermouth youngsters were given a good start by Alex James and Ned Mills with the very first ball of the match being despatched the boundary!

The latter stage runs came from George Geddes and Oscar Davis as Budleigh set a respectable total.

If Budleigh were good with the bat then they were exceptional with the ball!

There were two early wickets and three run outs together with a fine catch that restricted the Sidmouth reply.

Tight bowling all round, particularly by Finlay Cotton and Kishan Prasad heaped pressure on Sidmouth and the required run rate rose going into the final four overs.

Zoe Aitken and Ella Crowhurst then closed out the innings in a tense final session, holding their nerve against some big hitting.

The team have now won three games in a row and a different line-up will host Sidmouth at the Ottermouth next week in the return fixture. The Fortfield pitch was looking fabulous, sun on the sea and a large number of deck chairs filled with cricket watchers!

Budleigh pairings; Alex James and Mills; Kishan Prasad and Finlay Cotton; George Geddes and Oscar Davis; Zoe Aitken and Ella Crowhurst
