Following earlier uncertainty, I can report there most certainly will be a Budleigh Salterton FC Reserve team playing in the Fresha Devon and Exeter League Premier Division this coming season, writes SpursTom.

The team has been able to assemble a group of players which includes many of last season’s Under-16 side. Therefore is it a young and somewhat inexperienced squad, but knowing them as I do, they will do their level best not to let the club down.

They begin the season with an away visit to Chard Town this coming Saturday, followed by a home derby next Wednesday (August 27) when they meet Seaton Town (7.30pm).

They complete the first month of the new campaign with a trip to Thorverton on Saturday, August 30.

The new man in charge of the Robins Reserves is no stranger to some of the players for he is last year’s youth team manager Terry Williams.

He will have as his assistant Darren Everest who will also play in the team. I also understand that former team boss Duane Greenslade has agreed to take on the coaching and pass on his experience in the early stages until the new management find their feet.
