Budleigh ladies 5, Plainmoor 1
Budleigh ladies went nap and maintained their magnificent one-hundred per cent start to the season, writes SpursTom.
The game started at a lively pace with perhaps the visitors, who travelled with only 10 in their squad, the quickest into their stride with attacks coming mainly from their left-sided players
However, the Robinettes always looked dangerous on the counter-attack especially from the flanks, and, in particular Molly Jacobs.
On 15 minutes a good ball was played to Lucy Richardson who out-muscled the defender before running on and planting the ball beyond the keeper to break the deadlock.
With their advantage the hosts dictated play and should have had the game buried long before the break, but in the dying seconds of the seven minutes of injury time added, Plainmoor equalized via a corner.
Chelcey Greasley entered the action after the interval for the home side, and the away team were pegged back by the continuous pressure being applied. Within a ten minute spell Celine White netted twice to make it 3-1 and the Stacey Rogers netted in the 61st minute to make it 4-1.
The best was saved for last as a four-player inter-passing move paved the way for Celine White to seal another hat-trick and complete the scoring.
The fine all-round performance was the perfect way to say ‘aux-revoir’ to Helene Jan in her last game before returning to France.
