Budleigh played host to the Vice Presidents Association who brought two rinks to contest a friendly.

A compelling encounter ended with a two shot victory for Budleigh.

The outcome was in doubt until the final end and, although Rob Jerrard’s rink lost by seven shots, Ron Tyler’s rink of David Tomlinson, Ralph Cook and Richard Cooper won by 23 to 14 to secure victory for the home side.

Exonia retain their top-spot in the Symes, Robinson and Lee evening league with an easy win over the Budleigh Buzzards. Madeira Blues are four points behind in second place.

Burges Stace and Rod Freer are through to the final of the Club’s pair’s competition having overcome Peter Norman and Gerry Roberts by 20 shots to 10.

Budleigh ladies were visited by Feniton Ladies for an informal friendly and an enjoyable afternoon ended with wins for both home teams led by Lilian Grainger and Di Lowe.

Members have been saddened to learn of the death of Cliff Waycott, - one of the Club’s longest-serving bowlers. We miss Cliff’s great enthusiasm and vocal support which enlivened even the dullest of matches. We extend our condolences to his Family.
