The Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club Youth/Colts Presentation last Friday turned out to be a very pleasant and enjoyable evening, with special guests Lord Clinton, Sarah Tadd from South West Communication and Devon’s cricket own Roger Newman attending, to present certificates, medals and individual trophies, write SpursTom.
The Budleigh colts had a night to remember at the 2012 Annual Awards, writes SpursTom.
The night was also a chance for the club to herald then achievement of the Under-10 soft ball pair’s side that went through then season winning every game!
The Under-11 awards were handed over by team boss Dan Messom to be conducted by the colourful Conrad Thomas, suitably attired in a tropical t-shirt!
The team’s final position in the Bradley’s East Devon Youth League was to share top spot in the South Division with Woodbury, with both teams losing one game each – ironically to each other.
Thomas’ own personal award to the player who impressed him most with their performances and achievements for both the Under-10s and Under-11s went to Ben Bolwell who was handed a copy of Young Wisden –an enjoyable publication showing all aspects of the game.
All in all it was a truly wonderful evening.
